Geen successen voor de Belgische beloften (-21) in de eerste ronde van hun hoofdtabel tijdens de Open van Hongarije. Zelfs 16de reekshoofd Cedric Nuytinck werd verrast.

De Italiaan Marco Rech Daldosso ontpopte zich in Boedapest tot een ware killer van onze landgenoten. Na zijn overwinning op Vanrossomme in de kwalificaties bij de heren, schakelde Rech Daldosso Robin Devos uit in een beslissingswedstrijd bij de beloften. In de eerste ronde bleef hij ook Cedric Nuytinck, nochtans het zestiende reekshoofd, de baas. Het werd een thriller van formaat waarin Nuytinck met het kleinste verschil de boot in ging in de belle.

Emilien Vanrossomme, die zich via de kwalificaties voor de hoofdtabel plaatste, kon niet stunten tegen de Turk Li Ahmet. Hij werd in drie sets droog opzij gezet.
